The transit of Venus across the Sun has enthralled astronomers and amateur stargazers alike. They gathered across the world to view the rare phenomenon. The planet appeared as a small black pinhole moving slowly across the face of our Sun. People turned their gaze to the small silhouette of Venus in a spectacle that will not be seen again until 2117.

Myanma democracy icon and Nobel laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who started European tour on 13 June has returned to Myanmar by Thai TG 303 flight at about 10.30 am on 30 June after visiting five countries—Switzerland, Norway, Ireland, Britain and France.
Despite it was first announced that TG 303 flight was scheduled to land Yangon International Airport at 8.50 am, it arrived at about 10.30 am.
A great number of cheering supporters were seen waiting to welcome Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in and around Yangon International Airport at about 6 am. As she arrived at the airport, a large number of supporters gave a big round of applause.
Moreover, hundreds of people and NLD supporters were packed at the airport and lined along Pyay Road by waving miniature flags.

The opposition leader said that she does not feel that she has sacrificed anything greatly, but it was her children and British husband Michael Aris who felt the brunt of her long isolation. An interview with ITV News, the 67-year-old said, “It was a sacrifice for my sons and husband especially for my sons because … the children were young.”

As Myanmar opens up after five decades of military rule, a country run on cash is finding a new alternative: plastic. Private banks in Myanmar have begun rolling out automated teller machines in recent weeks, revolutionary in a country where people often haul sacks and suitcases of cash to banks. And more ambitious plans are in the works. "It's fantastic, so convenient," Naing Lin Oo, a 26-year-old computer engineer, said after withdrawing about 120,000 kyat one recent afternoon. "It would be good to see more of these," he added, pointing to a two-month-old blue-and-yellow ATM run by Co-Operative Bank, one of Myanmar's 13 private banks.”
