Myanma democracy icon and Nobel laureate
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who started European tour on 13 June has returned
to Myanmar by Thai TG 303 flight at about 10.30 am on 30 June after
visiting five countries—Switzerland, Norway, Ireland, Britain and
France.
Despite it was first announced that TG
303 flight was scheduled to land Yangon International Airport at 8.50
am, it arrived at about 10.30 am.
A great number of cheering supporters
were seen waiting to welcome Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in and around Yangon
International Airport at about 6 am. As she arrived at the airport, a
large number of supporters gave a big round of applause.
Moreover, hundreds of people and NLD supporters were packed at the airport and lined along Pyay Road by waving miniature flags.

“We believe that she made European tour
not for self-interest amidst widespread criticism and oppositions. It
is expected that this tour could promote the dignity of Myanmar. I am
proud of her in the world and therefore I have been waiting her since 7
am,” said a 25-year-old Ko Kyaw Win from North Dagon Myothit.
“Similarly, I feel excited about seeing a great number of cheering
supporters to welcome her and I am also here because I love her,” said a
16-year-old Ma Phyu Thi.
“I admire Daw Su for a long time. She
has a good positive attitude towards the interest of the people. I feel
her like a mother. I am really pleased to welcome her,” said Chin
woman Daw Lun living in Mingalardon Township.

In front of her residence, Daw Aung San
Suu Kyi greeted his supporters and those who followed her from airport.
During her five-nation European tour, she gave speeches at the
conference of International Labour Organization (ILO) and at the
awarding ceremony of Noble Peace Prize in Oslo of Norway.
She also accepted the Ambassador of
Conscience conferred by Amnesty International. While she was staying in
Britain from 19 to 26 June, she met with British Prime Minister David
Cameron and Prince Charles separately. She spoke at the over 300-year
old Westminster Hall as a fifth honorary person after the Second World
War. She also met Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama in London.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was awarded honorary doctorate at Oxford University on 20 June.
The Nobel laureate paid a visit to France from 26-29 June.
In France, she met with French President
Francois Hollande, Prime Minister Laurent Fabius and Mayor Bertrand
Delanoe of Paris separately.
France was the last visit in her Euro tour, and then she has arrived back in Myanmar on 30 June.
